Since 2009, the Texas BBQ Posse has logged over 7,000 miles visiting joints around the state. In early 2010, group member Gary Barber set up an interactive Google map to chart our favorite BBQ joints around the state. Dozens of BBQ tours have followed since then.

This map shows the places we'd visit again, an unofficial Texas BBQ Posse "stamp of approval." You can click here to access our Google map of Texas BBQ Posse stops. Enjoy the blue highways of Texas BBQ and follow the smoke!

Just what I was looking for. This is going to be very convenient to have!

By looking at the map, I can see that you need to make that trip South of I-10 and down I-37 to Corpus Christi.

Hi Retro Party: You are absolutely right on our lack of south Texas joints. Could you suggest some? We hope to get down there later this year after we hit the Houston area. Thanks/Chris

There's also a great place in Burleson. I forget the name, but it's right off of 35W.

Jackie from Alpha Window Tinting in Burleson

You guys ought to swing by Brady and visit The Spread (the spot that used to be a Hard-Eight outpost). They've upped the game (including quail poppers and weekend cabrito).

You need to head west to Lubbock. Try The Shack.

As a t-shirt wearing aficionado of the Posse in Fort Worth, I'm very surprised to not see Billy's Oak Acres on Camp Bowie West or BBQ on the Brazos at Motorsports Ranch in Cresson on the map. To be called Cowtown, the West-o-plex seems very under represented..

Hi Jim: Thanks for your comment. We originally had BBQ on the Brazos on our list, but took them off when they had to close. They are definitely one of our favorites in the area & we plan to go visit the new location at the Motorsports Ranch in the near future. I've already heard reports that it's the same great BBQ, so they will certainly be on any update lists we publish. We liked Billy's as well, but felt it was a slight notch under the 41 places we listed. If we had an HM list, they would certainly be on that. We appreciate your feedback & see you out on the BBQ trail! Regards/Chris
